Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in NY is off to a fun start! BCBGMAXAZRIA Runway show with a front row filled with the likes of Katie Holmes and others did not disappoint! I have to say I loved the opulence mixed with the casual grunge feel. But we all know I”m a huge fan of fur and on a cold winter day in NYC I’m not sure anyone would disagree that every fur in this show was unbelievably chic and wearable.
According to their press release: “For Fall 2013, BCBGMAXAZRIA RUNWAY was inspired by the beautiful history inlaid within the architecture of Istanbul and the eclectic style of the gypsies of southern Europe; contrasted by the artwork of contemporary artist Phil Frost. A palette of rich Pacific blue, burgundy, and soft neutrals is anchored by black and brightened by a shot of avocado green. White adds a clean, modern touch to offset the dark tones of the collection. Easy shift dresses and tunics are layered with sporty pants, sweaters and oversized jackets for a decided emphasis on sportswear. The relaxed silhouette is offset by thigh-high leather boots and ankle-cuff stilettos, providing just the right amount of feminine appeal.”
