Celebrity Makeup Artist Stephanie Flor Shares Her Favorite Summer Survival Tips
New York, NY – May 2014 – Smears, smudges and stains.  There’s lots to love about summer, but what’s a gal to do when her summer makeup just won’t stay put?  New York City-based celebrity makeup artist, Stephanie Flor – who was recently featured in Glamour, People en Espanol, Prevention.com and Latina, among others – shares her favorite summer tips that will leave you looking cool even when it’s sizzling hot.
·         Prevent Makeup From Smudging – The best way to prevent makeup from smudging is by using a makeup sealer.  “My favorite is Urban Decay All Nighter,” explains Stephanie.  “It prevents the makeup from melting and settling into fine lines.”
·         Use Waterproof MascaraAnastasia Lash Genius waterproof topcoat seals any mascara for a perfect day at the beach without smearing.
·         Lighten Things Up for Summer – Take your makeup and mix. Are you obsessed with your lip color from winter?  Mix it with a lip balm to create a softer stain.
·         Can’t Live Without Your Charcoal Black Liner?  Mary Kay Gel Eyeliner is perfect for the summer. It’s long-wearing and smudge proof. Gel is a great way to keep your look without worrying about it getting under your eyes.
·         Want to look flawless this summer?  Use a facemask before a big event to get all your antioxidants and face vitamins in less than an hour. Wipe away and follow with a great concealer, a little mascara and lip stain.
·         Create Luscious Lips – Exfoliating lips 1-2 times a week is a must. With such a long winter you want to keep your lips hydrated.  Try Bite Beauty Scrub.
·         A Twist on Lipstick – “One of my favorite summer tricks is to use my lipstick as a blush. I love pinks and deep reds. I’ll apply it on to my finger and dab it gently onto my cheeks and lips. It gives me a soft glow and depending on the color I can build it up to look heavy or just a flush of color.”
·         Skip the powder bronzers and try cream bronzers – You can apply directly to contour areas and use as a highlight on the apples. A little shimmer always makes the skin look summer perfect.  Use bronzers with a little apricot and that blend with the skin naturally. Stephanie suggests applying it on the forehead, cheekbones and temples.
Stephanie also swears by these quick DIY summer fixes:
·         Dehydration – make a cooling mist using argan oil mixed with mineral water and lavender
·         Chapped lips – create your own organic lip-balm by slicing beets and letting them roast in the sun. Now take your favorite organic lip balm and smash the beet to release color. Perfect summer color
·         Sunburn – Aloe Vera causes blood vessels to constrict, takes away the redness and sting from sunburn.
·         Enlarged pores – Apply tomato pulp on the skin and leave it on for 15 minutes.  This will shrink the pores for a flawless complexion.  Tomato also works great at removing a bad tan.
·         Dry pool hair – use a shampoo with placenta in it to repair damaged ends.
