New York Fashion Week really took stride today as the runway lit up with some of our favorite brands! One to take note of and always a crowd pleaser the ever changing Spanish brand Desigual.
First off, I always love this show. It’s usually bright and festive and smiley. It’s a nice change from the typical runway scowl that most brands promote during their shows. With Desigual you can always count on a familiar super model face and an occasional smile at the end of the runway. It’s fun!
Now the collection. As far as styling we can always count on layers upon layers of pattern. Desigual makes no qualms about mixing and matching and going over the top. The tones were a little more muted and darker than normal which was a cool departure from the usual bombastic array of color . The dark rich autumn colors which usually run the gamut on a fall runway were actually the main attraction this year for Desigual. You felt transported into the past with rich tuffs of fur, layers of velvet and an occasional sparkle illuminating from the pattern. I liked it.
