JESSICA ALBA

Hairstylist Jen Atkin

BEAUTY INSPIRATION:

“Jessica and I were so excited to collaborate on this look with the theme being punk. It let us go outside the lines with her hair.

GET THE LOOK:

“Texture was key in this look. To get this look at home I recommend washing the day before styling when trying a style like this at home. I love Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy Volumizing Root Boost for great body and texture in the hair and a well nourished scalp.

On Jessica, I worked with her dry hair and the texture it had. I added some Dry Bar Dry Shampoo to her roots for more texture. I tied the top half of her hair into a top knot, teasing the ponytail before knotting it with a Sonia Kashuk brush and secured with aCyndi band hair tie. I then French braided the back, and tucked any excess hair under by securing it with bobby pins. I incorporated some Fallon jewelry into her hair. I loved these because the sharp edges on the arrows evoke a safety pin vibe, which is a punk rock staple. I finished the look with a veil of Oribe Superfine Hairspray and Oribe Texturizing Spray in the bun.”

JESSICA BIEL

Hairstylist Anthony Campbell

BEAUTY INSPIRATION:

“The inspiration was something Jessica, myself and Giambatista Valli came up with. We wanted to do something that was graphic and a slight nod to punk but still chic. We wanted make it look like the sides were almost shaved and the rest of the hair pin straight almost like a sheet of hair and the top slicked.

GET THE LOOK:

“I prepped the hair with Bumble and Bumble Prep Spray from roots to ends to add moisture. Next I used Oribe Thickening Spray from roots to ends to blow dry and give control and a little lift.  Then I blew dry the hair straight with a Mason Pearson. Next I touched up the ends with a flatiron and spayed each section with Bumble and Bumble Does It All Spray. Next I slicked the sides back with Bumble and Bumble Does it All Spray putting just the sides into a small ponytail at the back of the head. Next I usedBumble and Bumble Classic Hairspray to slick the top and finish the slicked sides. Lastly I finished the ends of the hair with Oribe Gold Lust oil.”

AMANDA SEYFRIED

Hairstylist Renato Campora

 BEAUTY INSPIRATION:

“I was inspired by the punk theme of the Met Gala, and by Amanda’s Givenchy dress.”

GET THE LOOK:

“I first blew the hair out straight.  Next, I divided the hair into three sections – one top, one side, and one lower.  Next, I pulled each section back super tight and slick.  I combined all three sections into a twisted ponytail and brought together in the back. I finished the look with Blowout hair straight Serge Normant Meta Luxe Hair Spray.”

 ALLISON WILLIAMS

Makeup Artist Julie Harris

 BEAUTY INSPIRATION:

“The inspiration was punk and rock and roll!  I wanted to emphasize Allison’s sexy blue eyes.”

GET THE LOOK:

FACE

“I applied  Simple Skincare Hydrating Moisturizer to prep the skin. I then applied a light coat  of Giorgio Armani Maestro Foundation #5.  I highlighted under the eyes withLaura Mercier Secret Concealer in #2.

EYES

“I then applied a mix of blue, black and silver to the eyes to create a punk rock & roll effect. I used blue on the lid with a mix of silver in  the inner corners from NARS Marie Galante Palette.  I then applied MAC Cream Liner in Black along the lash line and winded upward to the outer corners and close to the lower bottom. lashes I lined the inside the of the eyes with  Kanebo Black Kohl. I shaped her brows with Anastasia  Medium Brown.  I shaded the crease  of the eyes with black from NARS Debbie Harry palette. I shades the cheek bones with taupe  and highlighted her cheek bones withNARS Blush from the Debbie Harry Collection –  it’s a nude shimmer.”

LIPS

“I applied a nude lip – NARS Belle De Jour.”

 KARLIE KLOSS

Makeup Artist Monika Blunder

BEAUTY INSPIRATION:

“Karlie Kloss wore a dark Louis Vuitton gown with real feathers and heavy details. Since the dress was in dark grey tones they went three shades darker with her hair for the evening. I wanted to stay in the punk theme, but modernize the makeup.”

GET THE LOOK:

“Everything was darker and heavier. The focal point for her makeup was the lips. I went with a bright fuchsia, pink lip color. The inspiration behind the bright lip was a Blondie reference, as she always had a bright lip, whether it  was orange or pink. For Karlie, I kept the pink lip the only pop of color in her whole head to toe look.

The eye makeup I did for Karlie was super strong. But instead of using a graphic eye liner, I went for a more matte look to make it more modern.”

MINKA KELLY

Hairstylist Jen Atkin

 BEAUTY INSPIRATION:

“Our inspiration was punk meets traditional glamour.

GET THE LOOK:

“For Minka’s look, I worked with her dry hair and texture that she already had that day. She has the BEST hair. I wanted her hair up to show off the neckline on her dress and showcase the gorgeous dark lip she was wearing.

I sprayed her hair with Charlotte Ronson’s A Perfect Mess Beach Hair Spray into her hair and rough dried with my hands. I created a loose bend in her hair using a largeNUMI Curling Iron on large sections of her hair. I sprayed her hair using Oribe’s Dry Texture Spray. I separated her hair into four ponytails, braiding each ponytail. I teased the braids with my Sonia Kashuk brush for more fly aways and a messier braid. I wrapped the braids around her head and secured with bobby pins, letting pieces fall around her hairline for a more undone look. I added a gorgeous piece of jewelry fromFallon at the sides of her hair to compliment her dress. With punk being the theme, we could add more pops of sparkle and flash. I finished with Oribe Hairspray.”

 NICOLE RICHIE

Makeup Artist Beau Nelson

BEAUTY INSPIRATION:

“Nicole’s dress was not an obvious punk choice but her nails definitely were, and were the starting point for the inspiration of her makeup. Once I saw the color of them all I could think about was doing a rich velvety matte dark lip.”

GET THE LOOK:

FACE

“I started by using Giorgio Armani Designer Lift in shades 8 and 6 to create dimension on the face (she was tanned from being in St Bart’s a few weeks ago) and then usedMAC Contouring Creme to bring out her cheekbones and jaw line. I used Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer under eyes to brighten. I set makeup with Shu Uemura Colorless Loose Powder on the face and Laura Mercier Brightening Powder under the eyes.”

EYES

“On eyes I used Shu Uemura and Bobbi Brown shadows to sculpt and enhance her natural eye shape. I used Laura Mercier Liquid Eyeliner Pen at the base of the lashes and used real mink lashes from Velour along with L’Oreal Carbon Black Mascara on curled lashes to further define the eye. On the brows I chose Tom Ford Brow Sculptor in Espresso.

LIPS

“I custom mixed a lipstick from CHANEL Rouge Allure in Rouge Noir and MAC Lipmix in Black and Fuschia and applied with a lip brush for precision.

As a finishing touch I applied Tom Ford Citrine Illuminating to the tops of cheekbones and the brow bone to give skin life and radiance.”

FELICITY JONES

Hairstylist Cervando Maldonado

BEAUTY INSPIRATION:

“Felicity’ look was inspired by a little punk and a little Audrey Hepburn mixed together.  The result was ‘pretty punk.’”

GET THE LOOK:

“We started by cutting the bangs straight across to bring more drama to the look of the hair. Then I applied to damp hair Kerastaste Volumactive Mousse to the ends, and Oscar Blandi Volume Volumizer to the roots for texture and shine. After that I blew dry the hair with a bore bristle brush in one inch sections from the bottom to top of head until dry. After that I used a Croc flatiron on the ends of the hair to create shine and sleekness. Next I took the hair and pulled it back to the occipital bone and created a pony tail using a bungee cord style band by Smoothies to hold it secure and in place. After that I wrapped the pony tail around the cord into a tight bun using black hair and bobby pins for support . Once I had the shape together I added more black bobby pins so they would shown to give more of a punk look to the hair and for the finishing touch I used Fredrick Fekkai COIFF Sheer Hold Hairspray to the whole head and concentrating on the bangs for shine and amazing hold.”

 KYLIE MINOGUE

Hairstylist Maranda Widlund

BEAUTY INSPIRATION:

“Kylie was a guest of Moschino. We went for a modern retro Rita Hayworth, she wanted to feel glamorous.”

GET THE LOOK:

“I did a sharp side part with a heavy set sexy flowing front. I blow dried in Phyto and then curled brushed  it out. I finished it off with L’Oreal Elnett Hairspray and Kevin Murphy’s Anti Gravity Cream for the curls.”
