Giulietta New York’s Tennis Cyborg Takeover

Game. Set. Match. Giulietta New York‘s Spring/Summer 2016 collection swept Pier 59 Studios with an army of designer Sofia Sizzi‘s tennis cyborgs. Primary colors and strong athletic lines dominate the collection with a mixture of classically preppy stripes and bubbly cabochons.
A modern interpretation of the game, the collection featured structural cuts like hourglass armor dresses, box pleats, color blocked panels, and even athletic visors. From start to finish, the show was like a geometry game with the contrast of clean lines and large circular elements that softened the athletic looks with a confidently feminine touch.
For the beauty look, Diego Da Silva for Rene Furterer ran point on pulling hair up and away from the face in preparation for the “game.” Lyne Desnoyers for MAC Cosmetics lined eyes with a playful pop of neon colors set against an otherwise natural face.
“Athleticism and physicality collide with the pure strength of femininity evoking a feeling of valiance.”
