Here comes the bride…no no, just Lagerfeld’s new muse Lily Rose Depp as he walked her down the proverbial aisle in a stunning pale rose colored bridal ensemble that was to die for.
“I wanted something impeccable, clean. I wanted the girls to look like walking fashion drawings,” said Karl Lagerfeld, adding, “And I must say, I love feathers!” By Lagerfeld standards, this show was a stripped down departure from past flamboyant presentations with societal overtones instead it laid focus on the ‘power woman suit’ and the feminine silhouette—a high, drawn waist with a bulbous flare at the hip which was reportedly inspired by a spoon-shaped sculpture by Surrealist artist Alberto Giacometti. We also can’t wait to pull out our string of pearls and wrap them around our ankles.
