1) MyFitnessPal

Calorie counting has never been easier with MyFitnessPal, an app that combines your daily food and exercise intake to calculate your total calorie consumption. Choose from an extensive database of more than four million foods and 350 different exercises to create personal diet diaries, while working towards daily goals determined by age, gender and activity level.

2) Nike Training Club

Get the next best thing to a personal trainer with Nike’s Training Club app. Aimed specifically at women, the app features inspirational female athletes talking through 15-45 minute workouts categorized into Get Lean, Get Toned, Get Strong or Get Focused. What’s more, users can conveniently stream personal iTunes playlists beneath the app.

3) Sleep Cycle

An intelligent sleep analyser, the Sleep Cycle alarm clock monitors movement throughout the night and goes off when you’re in your lightest sleep phase (within a set time frame of your choosing), when it’s easiest to wake up. Providing mobile devices are placed according to the app’s recommendations, Sleep Cycle detects when you fall asleep before tracking sleep quality and recording the results in a carefully-curated graph.

4) Map My Run

Using built-in GPS receivers, Map My Run measures workout details including distance, speed, elevation, calories burned and route traveled at the click of a button. As you track your run on the interactive map, you can expect useful (and encouraging) voice prompts, letting you know how much distance and time has been covered.
