SAUNDER punk it up

Emily Saunders of SAUNDER presented her FALL 2015 collection across the street from the hustle of Lincoln Center at the Empire Hotel.  The event showed off her new collection with painted up models wearing clothing reminiscent of another time mixed with a punky edge provided by the inclusion of Megan Isaacs hip and spikey jewelry pieces.

The F/W collection was a  tribute to Hilary Mantel’s historical novels ‘Wolf Hall’ & ‘Bring Up the Bodies’ which tell the behind the scenes story of Henry VIII’s split from his first wife Catherine and subsequent split with Rome. The collection is rich and textured with many nods to traditional Anglo fabrics such as tweeds and tartans. The silhouettes sway from romantic and feminine to masculine tailoring the two tied together by a thoroughly modern take on Tudor fashions and times.

In addition to the perfectly tailored designs, accessory designer Megan Isaacs offered up a series of jewelry inspired  by the fashions and times of Henry the Eighth, the FW15 collection focuses on mixing textures and materials using hematite, pearl, and stud like motifs in gold, silver, and gunmetal plating.  This is the fourth collaboration between Emily Saunders and Isaacs.FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS FW15 EMILY SAUNDERS
