Who doesn’t want the royal treatment? Lucky for us, there’s a new spa in town and it’s taking luxury and service to a level never before experienced. Located in Costa Mesa, the Balinese inspired Hylunia Wellness MD Spa is your red carpet. At the Spa, you are treated like royalty. From the moment you step foot in this oasis, the experience is totally different than the traditional spa experience.
Upon arrival, you are greeted by a smiling hostess in an open environment (no counters or desks)- much like an Apple store, but a spa environment. Nice touch!
The lovely hostess checks you in and then guides you back to relax in a comfortable Balinese chaise lounger where you will begin your “journey” via the given 3D glasses with built in earphones with a 12 minute guided meditation by Hylunia’s Founder, Dr. Lingam. Totally cool experience- as the guided meditation is enhanced by visuals of floating through clouds and over mountains, with an eventual landing on a beach in Bali. The experience is wildly spacey, but surprisingly relaxing.
Afterwards, your therapist escorts you to your therapy suite where you can enjoy a variety of services including facials, beauty treatments, massages, detoxification, and aromatherapy.
A majority of the treatments are 75 minutes, and only $130- a great price and totally worth it! Indulge in a custom massage where an arsenal of different techniques is employed for a sublimely relaxing experience. I loved the foot ritual, aromatherapy, hot stones, and Chakra balancing. Another perk unique to Hylunia is the fire therapy; a heated ceramic wand with infrared energy that acts like acupuncture (without the needles) to melt your stress away!
In addition to the actual services they offer, Hylunia has a variety of programs, classes, workshops, and activities to support their commitment to the health and happiness of their clients. They assessed my individual needs and customized a specific program- talk about the royal treatment! Even though I may not be a princess, I left feeling like one and I will definitely return to my Hylunia “castle.” Should you choose to indulge in your own luxury treatment, they have an AMAZING membership with so many fun services.
