As if Alessandro Michele couldn’t get more stratospheric or any cooler, today he outdid himself with a Resort 2017 show for Gucci inside the Cloisters at Westminster Abbey in London—the first time any fashion house has been granted access to do so. The show for me seemed like a flashback to the 90s Brit pop and Nerd Chic movement where it looks as if you grabbed whatever was under a buck in a bin and threw it on. Vintage looking pieces mixed with current textiles and colors all topped and bottomed off with retro sunnies and stompers for men and maryjanes for the ladies. What resort are these kids going to? I also can’t help but wonder if Courtney Love will take credit for this new but OLD wave of fashion.
