COACHELLA it’s not just for MUSIC

Coachella, Oh, Bella

One might mistakenly assume that fashion week in the Coachella valley wouldn’t consist of more than a runway full of models clad in Boho-chic attire, but quite contrary. After all, Palm Springs is to Los Angeles what the Hampton’s are to Manhattan — A place to be seen. Many of the women in attendance at Fashion Week El Paseo 2014 turned up in Trina Turk, JM Couture, Michael Costello, Odessa Christiana, Magaschoini, Chanel and Badgely Mischka. The highlight of the week hands-down is the annual fashion show sponsored by Saks Fifth Avenue.”The Best of Saks Fifth Avenue men’s and women’s wear for spring 2014 included looks by Stella McCartney, Etro, Roberto Cavalli, Alexander McQueen, Dolce & Gabbana, Pucci, Ralph Lauren for women, and Etro and Dolce & Gabbana for men.” While it’s safe to say that black & white dominated the runway the same can be said for florals and pinks as well. But perhaps even more alluring (we did just get done covering NY/Paris), are the immensely glammed up masters-of-style themselves… One thing is for certain whether they’re poolside decked out in Trina Turk or out on the town, these stylish men and women know how to La Dolce Vita! And if you don’t believe us, just ask L.A. designer Trina Turk — she has created a new line of shoes inspired by her favorite California cities. The “Palm Springs” shoe is unsurprisingly flashy, with its wooden sole, clear lucite heel, and cherry-red leather adorned with gold hardware. The entire collection can be purchased in-store, or online. (8008 West 3rd St; 323-651-1382,
