Dolce & Gabbana Secret Garden or Little Red Riding Hood?

  • The scene: Milan Fashion Week
  • The set: Secret Garden
  • The crowd: In awe

Me, a little confused on the continuity.  No one can deny the hand crafted perfection of Dolce & Gabbana.  The brand has maintained it’s popularity and high standards for decades and still reigns as one of the world’s most luxurious brands. Dolce and Gabbana are arguably  two of the most powerful and influential designers of our time. Having said that, I get it there are times you just say WTF and do what you want.  This might be one of those collections.

The collection is based on the Secret Garden. To me it seemed more or less a homage to Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, The Nutcracker and more recently Game of Thrones.  But in case you forgot you were at a Dolce & Gabbana show, they threw in a few of their Renaissance inspired lace dresses that have graced the red carpets over the last few years.  I’m just going to write off this show as theatrical and remain an avid worshiper and although I’ve adapted their recent ornate crowned hair pieces from recent collections you won’t catch me wearing that heavy chainmail or wearing woodland creature pictorials on my sweaters. Not happening.
