Beauty Month has arrived!!!

Is it July already? Have we already celebrated the longest day of the year? Are you enveloped in scorching flames of heat? Is it all downhill from here?

Yes, but this doesn’t mean you have to give in to the melted   ̶m̶e̶s̶s̶ masses. Prepare to fight with this season’s beautiful array of products. Have no fear – your beauty fairy’s here! I’ve compiled a collage of my favourite summer products for you, my pretties so without any further adieu…

Let us begin with a few new friends from Dermalogica. Their new and improved Daylight Defense System technologies are, dare I say, life savers.
These breakthrough products deliver safety for every skin need. I’m, personally, impressed with the Solar Defense Booster SPF50 that I add daily to my moisturizer without the greasy residue most sunblocks leave behind.

Their new Age Smart Skinperfect Primer SPF30 is also lovely. It glides on with a bit of pigment that dissolves into all skin tones filling in creases and crinkles with a healthy glow. Perfect for more mature women though I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with super oily/acne skin.

A confession: I’m cheating on Smashbox. Never had I thought of trying Murad primers until three of them showed up at my door. And. Now.I’m. Obsessed.

Having combination skin the Hybrids Skin Perfecting Primer Matte Finish gives me a perfect T-Zone that lasts all day whilst the Dewy Finish illuminates my cheek bones in every direction. Having tried the Acne and Shine Control primer on those who needed it, I can confidently say that it is the bee’s knees! Do not be alarmed – these formulas have a bit of colour to them but dissolve to the appropriate skin tone (with a little more buffing for our pearl-pale friends).

If you want to be even more daring try their Absolute Bronzing Boost SPF15 – oil free and healthy!
Next, to fulfil your luscious lips and colour-begging-nails – my love, my addiction, Dior. Behold, the Summer Mix Collection!

Not to repeat myself, but to quote a write up I did a few weeks back…

“Personally, my mood is at Happy O’Clock every time I look at my Acapulco [yellow] nails and my Rose Bikini [pink] lips. Seriously.

This assembly of colours is spectacular. The Vernis Nail Gloss coats beautifully with its perfect applicator brush – giving very little room to mess anything up. And the Addict Ultra-Gloss coats your lips so seamlessly – you’ll want to keep reapplying, luckily you won’t have to; this stuff has amazing staying power.”

Just saying.

And, last but not least, another two Dior gems that just made their way to stores are Grand Bal and [the-most-perfectly-concocted-cocktail-of-deliciousness-ever-made] Oud Ispahan.

These two are very different and, thus, can accommodate any one of your moods. Grand Bal has top notes of Jasmine, middle notes of Mayotte Ylang-Ylang and Tunisian Orange Blossom, with base notes of New Caledonia Sandalwood Essence. Oud Ispahan, on the contrary, has top notes of Labdanum Absolute, middle notes of Patchouli Essence [I die] from Indonesia, and bottom notes of Oud Essence from Laos, Rose essence from Turkey and Sandalwood Essence from New-Caledonia. Basically, delicious.

This concludes our first post of Beauty month, but boy do we have some amazing experts bestowing their beauty knowledge upon you in store! Please tune in daily as we feature guest bloggers from all over the planet to bring you the latest and the greatest.

Bisous à vous mes belles!
