Having the occasional sting of career envy after a gruelling week in the office is a natural thing….being envious of a cat’s career however is something a little more bizzare altogether, yet here I am!
Karl Lagerfeld has revealed this week that his cat Choupette has already earned over 3million euros, all of her own accord …yes, unfortunately you read that correctly! Thanks to endorsements for Japanese beauty products and a German car commercial, Choupette’s earnings almost match
that of renowned supermodel Cara Delevigne!
Admittedly when we first saw this report we all brushed off our egos by putting Choupettes colossal earnings down to an elaborate April fools joke, given that Chanel legend Karl made the initial comments regarding Choupette’s net worth on April 1st, but after admitting his beloved cat’s upcoming Lucky magazine cover was in fact an April fools prank we can be assured that the cats earnings are indeed no laughing matter.
Making his adoration crystal clear Mr Lagerfeld stated “If you saw her, you would understand. She is kind of Greta Garbo. There is something unforgettable about her, the way she moves, the way she plays….She’s an inspiration for elegance. For attitude.’ Two years ago Karl raised eyebrows the world over by stating that he loved Choupette so much he would marry her!
It has been reported that whilst staying in New York, Choupette travelled with one of her own maids (she has two FYI) and together they stayed in a $600 a night room at the Mercer Hotel! She religiously joins Karl at the table for all her meals and is treated to weekly manicures and beauty
treatments.
The multi million dollar bank account, the romantic comments and treatment fit for a princess….we’d be lying through our teeth if we said we weren’t massively jealous of Choupette the cat! Surely that’s a new low….
