GIAMBATTISTA VALLI Sassy 70s done Chic!

Giambattista Valli – A/W 2015 written by Joannah McGuinness

Being the label that was the talk of this year’s Grammy Awards, thanks to global superstar Rihanna quite literally taking over the red carpet in THAT larger than life pink gown, there was much anticipation and excitement for the Giambattista Valli fashion show in Paris this week.

A seventies revival appeared to be in full force on the runway with retro prints, sequins and smock dresses worn over trousers featuring repeatedly throughout the show.

Although a majority of the collection was quite loose fitting and almost laid back, Valli gave the looks a fierce and edgy vibe by teaming them with killer over the knee lace up leather boots – resulting in an amazingly fashionable combination of past and present trends.

Immediately differentiating their latest collection from that of other big names this season, the fashion house chose pastel and neutrals as the most prominent shades of their A/W ’15 Collection, a drastic contrast to the classic black goth-like  hues that have so far dominated fashion month.

Models were styled quite simply, with loose tucked back hair and natural makeup, ensuring that full focus was on the collection itself whilst also creating a fresh and youthful atmosphere.

High risen and detailed necklines were a personal favourite of this A/W ’15 collection as they were intricate, beautifully designed and coupled with the bold and beautiful prints ensured maximum impact!

The Sassy Seventies are back this season thanks to Giambattista Valli – and they have never looked more chic!
