I’m a huge fan of Vivienne Tam. I make no qualms about it. This season I was expecting bold colors and probably floral as everyone seems to be gravitating in that direction. I was looking forward to seeing Tam’s take on it …I wasn’t disappointed.
For this Spring Tam based her inspiration on the decorative treasures of the Ming and Qing dynasties that are housed in the Forbidden palace. Her take of next seasons floral parade is different. It is one that is refined, well orchestrated and perfectly tailored. The strong structural pieces paired with feminine silhouettes, reminiscent of those from the 60s, and combined with the mix of natural and high tech materials makes for the perfect modern combination. I’m also even more excited that comfortable sandals are still a staple next Spring!
Hats off.
